Many energy customers 'not shopping around for the best deals'
Many energy customers in the UK are not shopping around to find the best deals available to them because of a fear of the unknown, according to UKPower.co.uk.
The comparison service's director Graham Self also said that comparing and contrasting the best tariffs on the market is only one way that household and business electricity customers can save money on their energy bills.
He said: "Little things like turning the light off when you leave the room and turning things off at the wall, rather than leaving them on standby, that kind of thing can save you money. People would be surprised about how much that actually does save."
Mr Self added that "an element of unknown" may also be stopping some people from switching suppliers, as they may mistakenly think that they will need pipes or wiring changed.
UKPower.co.uk is a free online comparison service which offers impartial advice on the tariffs offered by all household and business energy providers in the UK.
The company also offers guidance on areas including insurance, mortgages, broadband and home phone tariffs through its Switchwise.com subsidiary.
